Individual Therapy is an opportunity for meaning-making.
Clients often find it a relief to speak with a non-judgmental, compassionate professional who can serve as a guide in the process of resolving difficult experiences, developing compassion for yourself and others, and getting past the places where you are stuck.Successful Therapy is the result of the blending
of emotional healing, insight into the past and learning new ways of being in the world.Therapy with me
is psychodynamic and founded in humanistic psychology. My work is influenced by Sidra and Hal Stone and Voice Dialogue, by Fritz and Laura Perls and Gestalt Therapy and by Eric Berne and Transactional Analysis. I've brought recent developments in the understanding of the neurological underpinning of psychotherapy into my practice with the use of EMDR.In my 20+ years of practicing therapy in the Burlington area, I've come to see my role as that of a guide:
Clients already have everything they need inside themselves. My job is simply to help them learn how to access their inner knowing, their intuition; and to teach them how to trust it. My job is to take out the map and help the client read it.
Clients seek individual therapy with me to resolve issues of
Recent or childhood trauma,
Depression and Anxiety,
Panic Attacks and Phobia,
Grief and Loss,
Relationship Difficulties,
Life Transitions,
Medical and Health concerns,
Work and Career issues,
Diminished Joy in Life.
