Fees and Insurance

Therapy Fees:
My fee is $120 for 50-minute individual sessions, and $60 for 90-minute groups. Clients pay at the time of the session.

Insurance Reimbursement:
More and more health insurance companies are reimbursing for out-of-network mental health services, even as their in-network services are becoming more and more restrictive. "Out-of-network" means that the provider (the therapist) has chosen not to be a member of insurance panels, and not to participate in managed care. Because of the potential for violation of confidentiality and the intrusion of non-clinician managers into the client's therapy, I've made the choice to be an out-of-network provider. I will be happy to give you a receipt with all the required information for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement for out-of-network services.

Health Savings Accounts:
Therapy qualifies as a reimbursable expense from Health Savings Accounts (HSA's) and Flexible Spending Accounts through employers. Let me know if you'd like a receipt for either of these types of accounts.

Pacing of Therapy Sessions:
While most clients schedule weekly hour-long sessions, some prefer longer sessions or two one-hour sessions per week. Others, because therapy is expensive, schedule sessions less often than weekly. In the initial stages of therapy, it can be helpful to schedule weekly sessions for at least the first few weeks to get the process underway effectively.
